Sorry for the long post, but hopefully this may help anyone else having a similar problem or maybe the Ubports developers working on the VPN gui app.
The forum where I found the suggestion didn’t give much explanation, so I am not sure what the exact problem was or why this solves it. Also, closing the connection in the terminal with CTRL+C reported a few errors when trying to delete routes, saying RTNETLINK answers: No such process, ERROR: Linux route delete command failed: external program exited with error status 2.Īfter a lot of searching, I inserted the line ‘route-delay 5’ at the end of my config.ovpn file and this solved the problem. The connection appears to be established without any errors or warnings in the log, which finishes with ‘Initialization Sequence Completed‘, but checking my IP in a web browser gives the same result as above. Unfortunately, I got the same result as with the GUI. ovpn file downloaded from the VyprVPN website, I was able to get the VPN connection working fine with sudo openvpn Config.ovpn on the computer, so I tried the same on my phone. I hadn’t used openvpn before, so before trying it on the phone I tried it on my Ubuntu 16.04 computer. I installed the enhanced GUI app of Pete Woods and tried using that, but the result was the same. However, opening a browser and navigating to a site that displays my IP address showed the IP address of my ISP and not my VPN proxy server, so clearly the VPN tunnel was not being used. After setting up the details in the GUI, and then flipping the switch, the switch turned green. However, the problem was different to what I’ve seen mentioned in this and other posts about VPN problems.įirst I tried setting things up using the standard VPN GUI, and it seemed to be working. When you visit Mullvad VPNs server page, you can get real-time information on all of the companys servers. There are even connections in places like Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. I’ve also been having difficulties getting VPN working correctly. Youll find most Mullvad servers in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, with dozens of city-specific server options.

us vpn server addreb username and pabword free vpn stuck on connecting in. I followed this thread before (when I had the same No active connection issue), and installing the mentioned packages (except for libvirt-bin which apt couldn't find my host is Debian Testing) solved the problem, so now I'm not sure. Not sure if I should post this here or start a new post as this is VPN-related but maybe a different problem. All VNC machines must connect with TCP/IP and have ports open to allow. With the Routing and Remote Access snap-in.
#Mullvad stuck on connecting install
Now that I tried to test it again, I'm stuck on No active connection to install on when I attempt to create a new VM (I deleted the previous one to start from a clean slate). If the entry isn’t present, click File, select Add/Remove Snap-in, choose the Routing and Remote Access option from the choices and click Add, then OK. After attempting the NAT default, I tried every combination of bridged and macvtap with the devices listed by $ ip a, and none gave me the desired result of the VM being given the same public IP as my host's VPN, or at least any IP assigned by the VPN. Inputting wg-mullvad (one of the devices listed after running $ ip a) results in 'operation unsupported', and I'm not sure if that's the device I'm even supposed to input. if my host's (main) NIC device is enp2s0, I input that. Another said the easiest solution is to simply install the VPN client on the VM, but isn't there a simple way to just tell it to use the host's VPN?īy 'put' I mean I enter into the Device text box. Make sure to write it down for safekeeping. If you dont have an account, tap on Create account to generate an account number. Enter your Mullvad account number, then tap the green login icon ( ).
#Mullvad stuck on connecting windows
Mullvads app looks modern and clean, and very much like a Windows Store app.
One thread mentions to use a bridged or macvtap connection, but every device I put results in an 'operation unsupported' error or the VM doesn't connect to any network when I start it (though when I connect a macvtap to my host's regular NIC, the VM's network works but not through the VPN). An active connection in Mullvad for Windows.
